This is a rosary box that belonged to Alice Gilchrist Reagan. The box, which seems a lot like plastic but is probably celluloid (apparently meant to look like stone on the front and the back) is 1-9/16" X 2-1/16" and is 5/8" thick. It opens up on the side where the word Rosary begins. There is no rosary inside. The word Rosary and a cross on the front of the box seem to be embossed, as if painted on with a very thin brush. The surface has not been etched. Part of the R in Rosary is missing, no doubt rubbed off.
