Franklin ("Frank") apparently lived alone in a trailer behind his youngest brother James' house on West 2nd Street in Webster City, Iowa, during the 1930s. Frank may have been in the roofing business with James, though he wasn't young during those years. Later he moved back to Rock Rapids where he died in 1938 at the age of 72.

John Thompson, Emma's father, died at her home in Barnum -- That is, either Barnum in Carlton County, Minnesota or Barnum in Webster County, Iowa; we don't know which it is but both have been suggested.

3) OSCAR THOMPSON
